With 250,000 constituents, it is one of the most diverse communities in Los Angeles.  | The Eighth District and Councilmember Parks have been the proud hosts of several of events each year. Community town hall meetings, book signings, the Martin Luther King Jr. “Kingdom Day” Parade, the Nike Human Race Runs, and the Eighth District Tree Lighting Ceremony and Winter Wonderland Toy Give-Away are just some of the events that can been witnessed each year. Leimert Park, Expo Park and the Baldwin Hills/ Crenshaw Plaza have continuously served as the home to numerous events in the district. Parks welcomes these opportunities that allow his constituents to celebrate and take pride in the community. |
