Wednesday, January 21, 2015, 10 a.m.: Councilmember Parks Introducing $75,000 Reward Motion to Help Solve Death of Bert Crump, Jr. and Injury to Clifford Williamson

Councilmember Bernard C. Parks will introduce a reward motion in the amount of $75,000 for information leading to the identification, apprehension, and conviction of the person or persons responsible for the death of Bert Crump, Jr. and injuries sustained to Clifford Adolfo Williamson.

On August 22, 2014 at approximately 6:20 p.m., 17-year old Bert Crump, Jr. was near Normandie Avenue and West Gage Avenue in Los Angeles when he was chased by a suspect towards Raymond Avenue and Gage Avenue. Mr. Crump then jumped into the vehicle of Clifford Adolfo Williamson who was passing by. The suspect then pulled out a firearm and fired several rounds towards the vehicle, striking both Mr. Crump and Mr. Williamson. Mr. Crump was killed by the gunfire, while Mr. Williamson was struck in the chest and survived. Detectives are continuing to investigate this case and hope that a monetary reward compels members of the public to provide information on this crime.
