Monday, December 1, 5:30 p.m.: Councilmember Parks Invites All to Celebrate the Holiday Season with Him at the Last Tree Lighting Celebration of His Term

Councilmember Bernard C. Parks will kick off the holiday season in the 8th district by holding his final 12th Annual Tree Lighting Celebration and holiday concert of his term on Monday, December 1 at 5:30 p.m.

The tree lighting celebration is a dear legacy program of Councilmember Parks. Throughout his term, Parks has prided himself on providing free, safe, and family-friendly activities for the community to enjoy.


Councilmember Bernard C. Parks is concluding his third and final term as a Councilmember for the 8th district in the City of Los Angeles. As Councilmember, he is a staunch advocate for holding elected officials accountable for their actions and promoting transparency. As former Chief of Police with the Los Angeles Police Department (LAPD), he is credited with creating the nation’s first Cold Case Unit to close unsolved crimes and reforming one of the nation’s most renowned police forces. Councilmember Bernard C. Parks will celebrate 50 years of public service on February 1, 2015.
